Candidate filing deadline approaching for Nov. 3 Consolidated Election

Anyone interested in running for office in the Nov. 3 consolidated election may file papers for candidacy until 5 p.m. Friday (Aug. 7). If an incumbent fails to file, the deadline is extended for that office, for non-incumbents only, to 5 p.m. Aug. 12.

The following special districts and school districts have open seats:

Special Districts

  • De Luz Community Services District
  • Edgemont Community Service District
  • So. Coachella Valley Community Service District
  • Tenaja Community Service District
  • Beaumont Library District
  • Palo Verde Valley Library District
  • Desert Recreation District – Divisions 2, 3 & 5
  • Home Gardens Sanitary District
  • Valley Sanitary District
  • Desert Water Agency
  • Cabazon Water District
  • Chiriaco Summit Water District
  • Home Gardens County Water District
  • Mission Springs Water District
  • Pinyon Pines County Water District 

School Districts

  • Banning Unified School District – Trustee Areas 2, 3 & 4
  • Menifee Union School District – Trustee Areas 1 & 2
  • Palo Verde Unified School District
  • Perris Elementary School District – Trustee Areas 2 & 4
  • Riverside Unified School District – Trustee Areas 2, 3 & 4
  • San Jacinto Unified School District – Trustee Area 1

The Registrar of Voters staff is available to help prospective candidates complete the necessary paperwork and answer questions. Anyone unsure about their eligibility to seek local office, based on residency, should contact the Registrar of Voters office for help. Candidates receive informational handbooks when they obtain their papers.
