Supervisor Chuck Washington has been reviewing additional law enforcement crime data this past week from the sheriff's department and the Murrieta Police Department which have both cited increases in criminal activity, particularly the crimes of robberies and assaults. After further review of this additional crime data, “I have come to the conclusion that there is still a significant impact on the surrounding community around the Southwest Justice Center. I am committed to ensuring the safety of all the residents in the community and keeping public safety the top priority. My intent is to reinstate the Riverside Inmate Destination Endeavor (RIDE) program by requesting the Board of Supervisors to reconsider at the September 1, 2015 board meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the County Administrative Center’s Board Chambers located at 4080 Lemon St. in Riverside. For more information, contact Claudia Maunz-McLellan at 951-955-1030.
