Ten out of 24 rodents collected in March from San Timoteo Canyon in the Norton Younglove Preserve near Beaumont have tested positive for hantavirus, the California Department of Public Health has confirmed. Riverside County Department of Environmental Health officials said that, to date, no documented human case of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome has ever originated within the county.
Facts and other information about the potentially fatal Ebola virus are available on a new web page from Riverside County health officials.
