MORENO VALLEY, Ca.—A $500,000 gift from the John P. Previti Memorial Foundation will buy new pediatric equipment for RUHS Medical Center and support programs that help children cope with the emotional impacts of hospitalization.

The announcement came after the Board appointed Johnson, 56, to the position in closed session following the regular Board meeting. The terms of his employment contract will return to the Board sometime in June.

New data show homelessness has increased in Riverside County

Riverside- The number of homeless people in Riverside County increased countywide compared to a similar survey last year.  The “point in time” count totaled 2,413 adults and children, compared to a 2016 count of 2,165.  A total of 1,638 unsheltered homeless individuals and a sheltered count of 775 were identified in Riverside County.  In contrast, during the 2016 PIT count, 1,351 unsheltered and 814 sheltered homeless individuals were identified.
