Akita Brown was a single mother with three children. She had lost her job, lost her home, and was staying with friends and in hotels because she couldn’t find a home she could afford.
The nomination period begins Monday (May 4) for the Aug. 25 elections involving a local fire district and several water district boards. The elections are for the Fern Valley Water District, the High Valleys Water District, Lee Lake Water District, Rancho California Water District, Idyllwild Water District, Pine Cove Water District, and Idyllwild Fire Protection District.
Approximately 116,000 vote-by-mail ballots will be mailed to voters starting Monday (May 4) for the City of Riverside municipal election on June 2. Ballots should arrive in mailboxes by the end of the week. In order to be counted in the election, voted ballots must be received at the Registrar of Voters office by 8 p.m. on June 2, or be postmarked on or before Election Day and received no later than three days after Election Day.
RIVERSIDE – People who own residential or business property in Riverside County have until Aug. 3 to file for unclaimed property tax refunds.
