A new bridge that will eliminate the potentially deadly conflict between motorists and trains will open Feb. 19 over the railroad tracks that cross Magnolia Avenue in Home Gardens, along a route that carries 20,000 vehicles per day.
Kenneth L. Edwards, the general manager and chief engineer of the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District from 1978 through 1995, passed away on Thursday (Feb. 4) in Riverside. He was 85.

With several days of rain expected this week, Riverside County today (1/5) activated its emergency operations center through Friday.
