Stacy McCoy


Deputy County Counsel

Stacy A. McCoy joined the office in 2003. For the past seven years, she has represented the Department of Public Social Services as the petitioner in juvenile dependency proceedings, providing legal counsel at all stages of a dependency case and managing a high volume caseload including court appearances and trials. She has also prepared appellate briefs on dependency court rulings. 
Before joining the office, Ms. McCoy worked with the Juvenile Defense Panel of Riverside for nine years, litigating juvenile dependency cases on behalf of parents and children. She was also responsible for the preparing and drafting writs for the clients.
Ms. McCoy received her J.D. from Western State University School of Law, San Diego in 1991. While in law school Ms. McCoy served as president of the Black Lawyers Association.
