Bruce Fordon
Deputy County Counsel
Bruce Fordon joined the office in 2006 and is currently assigned to the Litigation Section. Mr. Fordon provides a broad spectrum of advisory and litigation services to County departments, including Code Enforcement, Public Health, Environmental Health, Fire, Sheriff and Emergency Medical Service departments.
Mr. Fordon has over 15 years experience in local government. Prior to joining the office, he procured, drafted and audited government contracts for federal, state and local social service programs.
In 2008, Mr. Fordon obtained a published decision from the California Court of Appeal that rejected a preemption challenge to the County’s grading ordinance (Martin v. The County of Riverside (2008) 166 Cal.App.4th 1406 2008). The court held, inter alia, that the County’s grading ordinance has its origin in state housing law and it is of equally dignity with state statutes.
Mr. Fordon received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of La Verne. He received a B.S. in finance from California State University, Pomona.
Mr. Fordon is admitted to practice in all state courts and the United States District Court for the Central District of California
