Anyone interested in running for office in the Nov. 3 consolidated election may file papers for candidacy until 5 p.m. Friday (Aug. 7). If an incumbent fails to file, the deadline is extended for that office, for non-incumbents only, to 5 p.m. Aug. 12.
Monday (Aug. 10) is the deadline for voters to register and be eligible to cast a ballot in the Aug. 25 election. The Aug. 25 election includes the High Valleys Water District, the Idyllwild Water District, the Pine Cove Water District, the Rancho California Water District and is not a countywide election. It is also an all mail-ballot election, so there will be no established polling places.
A 37-year-old man and 53-year-old woman are the first confirmed human cases of West Nile virus in Riverside County this year, Dr. Cameron Kaiser, public health officer said today (Wednesday). The individuals live in western Riverside County.
